Super Readers, Super why!

We have a nightly occurance in our house!  We eat supper, the kids take a bath.....And then, Mason and Maddy turn into "Super Why's!"   It is really quite comical.  Super why is a T.V show on PBS.  (Very educational, I might add!)  They use their bath towels and turn them into capes and RUN around the house.  (for about 30 minutes each night!)

Grr. It's blurry because I had to crop it.  No wee wee's allowed!

He gets a little off the beaten path and usually turns into spiderman.  Here is is throwing out his web.

Maddy calls towels "suu'er why's.  I say "no, its a towel", "NO,su'er why!"
I can see it now, developmental screening...they are called what??

Even Daddy gets involved!

Is it sad that this is one of the highlights of my day?

On a different note:

Why you always check on your almost 2 year old before you go to bed.   :)

Slacking!

I'm slacking!   Although, I would love to say that the Crotts household has been a little boring this week, i'm not sure that can ever be the case with 2 small kids!

We started the week off with a little snow (6 inches!)  the M's liked it, for about 5 minutes.  I'm sure they would have lasted longer, if they would have left their gloves on!  I helped them 2x put them back on and then after that, we learn from our mistakes.  They didn't like letting their hands get so cold.  Mads came up to me later inside, handed me her gloves and said "ouch, ON!"  Lesson learned!!  But really people, its not like we were out there for a long period of time.  So don't go handing me "mother of the year award" yet.........

Madeline found our "keep sliding glass door closed" or "beat the intruder" stick-that we have in our sliding doors.   She was walking around like a hobo.  Pretty funny...or maybe you would have had to been there to find the humor!

Watch out bad guys!

We really do wear pants in our family!

Maddy got her 1st haircut on Saturday.  I was really nervous, but it turned out perfect!  I'm trying to grow her bangs out, but she won't leave "pretties" in her hair (VERY sad face!) to keep her hair out of her eyes.  She's flexible now.  bangs one day-no bangs the next!  :)

Very shaggy!

Thank you, inventor of the Ipod........

And the inventor of the sucker..........

and the inventor of the blow dryer!

We also went to the K-State vs. Texas Tech game.  Mason had NO Texas Tech gear on....but, he did wear football gear.  oh well!  It was purple!

Maddy enjoyed the cheerleaders....yay!
I didn't notice my husbands Kstate budweiser shirt-CLASSY!
His wardrobe dresser had the day off.

The game was such a blow-out, Mason decided to sneak in a nap!  Score!

(Thank you, Kelly and Justin for the tickets!)

Craft Time!

I wanted to show off my "new" table and chairs!  We were planning on buying a new set, but I was searching craigslist and came across this Thomasville table and chairs.  I fell in love with it and when I talked to the owner, he just wanted the set gone, so therefore we got it for an awesome price!  The chair covers on the other hand, were little to be desired for, so I decided I would try my hand at repolstering them!   EASY!  granted, they may not look like a professional did them upclose, but I still think I did an A-OK job.  :)  Can't wait to show you my next idea for Madelines bedroom!

Before chair and after chair!

After!  Love, Love it!

I have also been making tu-tus.  Mainly for Mads, but for Christmas, I made this set for sweet baby Khernington!  Isn't she a doll?

My new favorite bow?  Tu-Tu bows!
(They actually look a lot better in person!)

She's getting a little tired of being my model!

And...some random flower bows!

Last by not least.............
I also made these two cuties!  :)

Goodbye--We will miss you!

Today we have to say goodbye to our wonderful friends.  It has been months since we got the news that they were leaving, but Jan. seemed so far away back then.  Here we are, the day has come and we are so sad.  Not only are they moving away, they are moving to Germany.  Not as easy to hop in the car, or hop on a plane and visit them.

4 years ago, I received a phone call from a nice lady (from the FRG) reading me a letter from the brigade stating that our guys would soon be deploying to Iraq.  I never imagined that the voice on the other end would become one of my dearest friends.  A few phone calls later, she invited me out to coffee, and the rest is history!  She helped me so much through our 1st deployment.  I'm not sure I would have made it without her.

When our 2nd deployment rolled around, you would find us at resturants 2 to 3x a week.  It was great.  I knew when my phone rang at 4:00 p.m. we were going out for supper!

Mason and Madeline absolutely adore this family.  Madeline has taken a liking for Kevin, and its the cutest thing.  Harrison is also a favorite of hers.  Mason ADORES Hunter.  Always has it seems.  It breaks my heart to think that Madeline will be 5 and Mason will be 6 1/2 when they return.  The good news:  They are moving back to Manhattan!  So, goodbye won't be for too long.  And then those 3 years will turn into 3 hours away from them.  (we will be in Oakley!)  I am looking forward to that day!  I'm sure 3 years will fly by.

Alright, enough of the sadness and tears- we will see them again (hopefully in Germany!)  Praying that they have a safe flight, journey and that they LOVE Germany.

Gorsages, when you read this!  :)  Thanks for all of the special, happy memories.  We love you guys and will miss you so much!  You have truly changed our life for the better and we are forever thankful for great friends like you!  :)

New Year, New accesories! :)

Madeline and I both got new shoes for Christmas.  My little girl is a SHOE girl.  She loves them.  Sadly enough, she has about 10 pairs.  The only way she gets dressed in the morning in a hurry is if we have her shoes with her clothes.  She can hardly wait until she gets them on!  I love it!

P.s.  her shoes are all silver....the lighting wasn't too good!

Along with new shoes, every girl needs new accessories.  I have started making Madelines bows and flowers.  I love, love, love making them for her!  They are also available at Oakley Farm and Home! ;)

Nevermind my sweet girls face.  This little monkey was jumping on the bed, she fell off and bonked her head...and her Mommy DID call the Dr....and the Dr. said.."not going to be the last time, Maddy falls off the bed!"  True Story.  :)

New Year, New goals!

One of my goals for this year is to do something I normally wouldn't do. I have decided to start a blog. We will see how long this last, meaning last year, I had failed by Jan. 15th. eek! I love reading other blogs, so I'm hoping this works out.

Chris and I rang in the new year in Aggieville with friends that we are going to miss so much!   Did I mention that it was -5 degrees at midnight? By the end of the night, I couldn't feel my toes. I had a great time (and even danced...which if you know me well, you know that's not a common thing!), and Chris had even more of a great time. ;) While we were ringing in the New Year in Aggieville, our babies were home nice and warm in their beds-Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma.

As we start this new year, I feel so blessed to have a warm home. A truly great man by my side who always puts everyone before him, 2 healthy, crazy, fun, children who are the light of my life each and every day,  a awesome family who supports us in everything we do, and friends who we couldn't live without!  We truly are blessed!  Life is good!
