To continue on with the Chronicles of Maddy Mayhem:
A little while ago we ran to Dillions to get a few things. I was picking up things on my list when all of a sudden Maddy went crazy. Literally. She thought she spotted her daddy. She started YELLING "daddy" "daddy" and climbing out of the cart. I could barely control her. She was so excited. Well as it turns out, ironically enough it was a guy in Chris' unit. He wasn't even wearing ACU's, so apparently they look alike. I just said "No, No" daddy is at school, remember? She then calmed down and actually looked a little disappointed. I was thankful this guy didn't see her screaming at him. So we go a few aisles down and here comes Chris' friend again...Maddy immediately started screaming at him again, "daddy, daddy!" I was so embarrassed BECAUSE he had a girl with him. His face immediately turned red, as did mine. He said hello, walked on by and I glanced at the girl with him and I could tell she was thinking, "what's going on here...." SO THEN, we are at the check out and this guy walks by AGAIN....and AGAIN, Maddy goes crazy. DADDY, DADDY, DADDY, DADDY!!!!!!!! Everyone in the store (or that's how it felt!) was looking at her (and me!) I'm not sure if it was a good thing I knew him or not.........and hopefully he didn't have to explain too much. His girlfriend looked a little concerned. Bhahahahahah.......I'm not sure I have ever been so embarrassed.

As I write this, I'm sitting on my deck in 85 degree weather at 8:00 p.m. I LOVE summer! M&M just finished DQ ice cream and are now playing nicely together on the swingset! aaahh! bliss! It may seem that I'm falling behind on my blogs, but really, there hasn't been much going on. Really. I'm just REALLY thankful that its starting to get nice here in good old Kansas!
Since there is nothing really going on, I thought I would talk about my kids. Fun, right? I know what you are REALLY thinking. he he. But in all fairness, i do have some funny stories or at least funny to ME stories!
The funny stuff really deals with Miss Mayhem, but I will talk about Mason first. Mason is totally and completely into superheroes and pirates. He wants to go to McDonalds everyday because the toys are batman and I might add, they are really good toys. MUCH cheaper than at target! Good thing his dad is gone right now, because I'm sure they would both be at McDonalds everynight...and not for the food. ;)
A proud moment: Mason a few weeks back came to me, put his hand over his little heart and said the Pledge of Allegiance start to finish. He is learning so much everyday. I finally got it on tape, I had to bribe him with a hershey kiss. ;) His speech is also getting A LOT better. I can understand him, so I hope you can too! I love the way he says "america" he sounds like a foreigner so happy to be in this great nation!
On a sad note: Mason occasionally asks where his daddy is at, he wants to see him, etc. So heartbreaking when they just don't understand. I told him he was at school, like his preschool. I'm sure Mason is thinking "whoa, lucky duck!"
He was a little crazy at first, but got the job done!

On to the Chronicles of Miss Madeline:
This girl. I know people probably get tired of me saying she is crazy...but she is. It amazes me how much alike we are. She has to be the boss, be everywhere ahead of everyone else, she loves to "mother" the other kids and she talks to complete strangers. That being said, it amazes me how much Mason is like Chris. Quiet (compared to maddy) takes his own sweet time to do anything, etc. Madeline has to do EVERYTHING herself and Mason would rather have someone do it for him. (Cough*Chris*Cough) So funny their personalities!
Ok, funny story:
Maddy has a pink metal bucket from Easter. She calls it "her friend" she talks to it, plays with it, SWINGS it, its literally her imaginary friend. A bucket. It has to go everywhere with her. The other day, she was throwing a fit in her carseat, saying "stuck", "stuck" "yes, Maddy you're stuck, you are supposed to be" when I finally figured out what she was REALLY wanting I couldn't contain my laughter. She wanted her bucket strapped in the seatbelt. Just hilarious.
She hasn't lost her liking to complete strangers. The other day at the park, she had a donut, chewed it up and spit it out and handed it to a guy around his 20's. You should have seen the look on his face. She then proceeded over to another man and wanted him to pick her up, which he did. Awkward!!!! Its funny to me because she goes over to people and starts blabbling, and she uses hand gestures. oh, she just kills me!
EARLY saturday morning, we had some storms come through which I guess woke Maddy up because she woke me up at 4:00 in the morning by poking my eye. There in her lap was a gallon of milk, eggs and a bowl of strawberries. Apparently she was hungry. And, she didn't fall back asleep until later that day. This independence thing is getting a little out of control. :)
On mothers day we went to Chipotle by ourselves. Yes, I took 2 little kids at 12:30pm to Chipotle all by myself. I'm not sure if I was crazy or not, but I was craving it and darn it, it was mothers day! So we are standing there and they are standing still and much to my surprise were being really good. Well, the people in front me were laughing and I figured out that Madeline was imitating the way the man was standing. So he was moving his legs into different positions and she continued to copy him. Whatever kept her busy I guess. She even kept them entertained during the long line. She does this to Mason all the time. Whatever he is doing, she is doing. It works out really well when Mason is being good. And when he is not.............I lose my mind, as you can imagine!
We went to get Mason's haircut and there was a huge, huge man with army acu's on. He stood up from the chair, and Maddy ran over to him and shouted "daddy!" "daddy!" and he replied, "Little girl, I'm NOT your dad" HA! Apparently, he didn't like little kids. She has done this a few other times- mostly at the place I work out. One guy was very nice and talked to her, and the other said "uhhhhh, huh? nope its not me!" You wonder if he was thinking " god, I hope not!"
Last but not least, Karline sent some sunglasses in the mail and I caught Madeline at the mirror she was saying" my glasses, my glasses!!!!!! Funny! They are MINE! My glasses, MY glasses!" Then she took them off and screamed at herself and ran out of the bathroom.
I think I'm finally fresh out of stories. Hope some of them kept you entertained. Here is some pictures from this weekend and today!
Ha...seriously, she's a mess! a fun one! ;)
